Up close

One of my favorite styles of photography is the extreme close up, where you can really see every little detail that the normal eye would typically pass over.

Oftentimes, it’s pictures of flowers. I like the details of each individual petal. To see the minute differences in shades of color. The small, natural imperfections that you might miss in a bigger picture. In these three photos, the roses are from the Rodin sculpture garden in Paris, and the sunflowers and calla lilies are from a flower market in Amsterdam.
